Haim is synonymous with two things: great music and great hair. Sisters Este, Danielle, and Alana are moving into new territory this summer with their second album, Something to Tell You, out July 7, and a refreshed sense of style that’s straight off the runway. At Monday’s CFDA Fashion Awards ceremony, the trio attended as guests of Diane von Furstenberg and Jonathan Saunders in coordinating striped dresses and tops from Saunders’s just-debuted Resort 2018 collection. “Being here with Diane is awesome,” said Danielle, with Este adding, “She is leg-en-dar-y!” They also hit it off with Saunders, whom Alana described as “the most awesome” collaborator, when they were picking and styling their outfits. “We wanted to be a girl gang and make sure we were all matching,” said Este. “Just like Destiny’s Child.”

While Beyoncé, Michelle, and Kelly could rely on Tina Knowles’s savvy for their looks, the Haim sisters are turning to the buzziest labels in fashion. For a Saturday Night Live performance in May, Danielle rocked a Balenciaga denim jacket with bold shoulders, while their album art features Este in a Spring 2017 Simone Rocha frock. “I think we all wear what we’re most confident in,” said Alana, adding that vintage band tees are still in heavy rotation. “To go on stage, you have to feel confident, and if you’re feeling confident in what you’re wearing, that’s the best badge of honor.”

Aside from the fashion and the music—the latter of which was created with the likes of Dev Hynes, Rostam Batmanglij, and A$AP Ferg—Haim’s soon-to-be-announced tour promises more great hair moments. “There’s a lot of hair choreography,” joked Este. As for their beauty secrets, the sisters admitted they share products. “It’s pretty much chaos backstage when we’re getting ready for our shows,” said Alana.
