There seems to be a lot of opinions about guns. Some folks don’t believe in owning guns and others who are licensed to carry are folks you would never suspect.
One of the most dangerous shooters Lou has heard about is the male half of an engaged couple. The incident happened when they registered household “stuff” at the bridal registry.
After the wedding the newly married couple began to receive interesting gifts. Some of them the bride did not remember marking in the registry. Turns out she didn’t.
In typical fashion though the husband did take a liking to the tagging gun and enjoyed target practice on appliances and specialty items within range.
When the gifts began arriving, the new bride remarked she had never seen such a fancy crockpot or set of knifes. When she thanked the gift giver, she mentioned about the gifts being unusual. The giver said “well you picked them out.” Then the truth began to surface and the new groom fessed up to being trigger happy.
When shopping with your family there’s always rules to follow. If you get separated from the rest of the clan, one rule is go to the front of the store. Eventually everyone will show up there. If this fails one can always have the missing family member paged. Wanting not to embarrass grandchildren, one grandmother found if she would go to a cash register and page herself, the child would figure out where to show up to find his lost granny.
There are times to be calm and there are occasions to panic. The TV insurance commercial where Mom is hollering to a son “Where is your brother?”reminds Lou of a time when shopping in a large store with my daughters in the pet department. The little sister realized it might be a good idea to tell on her older sister. She came shouting, “Mom, Mom.
