PNG Fashion Show has announced its week dates, runways and locations to its upcoming fashion show to be hosted in the Nation’s capital.

The fashion week is set for the 4th – 7th April, 2018 that will see 8 new runways showcasing in 3 locations within Port Moresby with this year’s leading theme “a 1000 dresses, a 1000 tribes”.

It is now inviting PNG local designers and models to apply to PNG Fashion Week by 28th February, 2018 to be considered in the major event in April.

PNG Fashion Week Managing Director Philma Kelega in a statement also confirmed the dates and outlined that the fashion show is aimed to build local talents as a potential need to invest in their growth, in their capabilities while creating a platform for them to excel in their carriers.

Mrs Kelega said PNG Fashion Week is the premier fashion event of Papua New Guinea with its main objective to create and nurture the growth of the fashion, textile and beauty industry in the country.

She said that it is not only about showcasing, but an avenue to support local SMEs, influence and stimulate the growth of the PNG economy, and create opportunities in the international market for Papua New Guineans.

Mrs Kelega said that the theme for this year was put up because of the country’s plethora of language, culture, art, color, and people who are the standard in diversity, equal to none.
